The Making of Migraine #1

Follow a semi-lucid killer through his dreams into the depths of purgatory after an imaginary suicide attempt. Reflecting upon the nature of how the human brain constructs a dream from visual memory, “Serifires” remixes documentary and staged footage with computer generated imagery to create an amalgamation of the surreal and the hyper-real.

Starring:
Ian Duncan-Brown as the serial dreamer
Peter Edwards as the body in a body bag
Chris Latina as the mirror image of the dreamer

Directed, shot and edited by Chris Latina
Music composed and recorded by Chris Latina

CGI produced in house with Processing and Pure Data

Winter Hill #1

Winter Hill #2

“Originally, I set out to make portraits of residents that I imagined remained from the days when Whitey Bulger and the Winter Hill Gang ran the streets. The portraits were uncomfortable, sarcastic and abrasive - reminiscent of Bruce Gilden’s street work. However, the less I felt like a stranger the more natural the photos became. As the project progressed over the year, I attempted to display the hill itself, pairing portraits with their surroundings to show the socioeconomic gradient that superimposes the slope of the Hill.”
